I stared at the blank piece of paper. I was attempting to write out my deployment bucket list, but I wasn’t sure how to start.

It was so intimidating! I knew he would be gone for months, and I knew that I wanted to better myself. However, when it came time to write it down, my mind went blank. However, over the years, and 7 deployments later, I have come up with a lot of options. Some I have completed and others are yet to come.

So if you are thinking of what to put on your deployment bucket list. Here are over 100 different options covering several different areas of interest. Find what works for you!

Health And Fitness

  • Run a 5K or 10K.
  • Run _______.
  • Try zumba.
  • Exercise every day for a month.
  • Sign up for Crossfit.
  • Try [fitness regimen].

  • Think outside of your comfort zone, such as yoga

Do whatever makes you happy

Like everything in life, deployment is what you make of it. Things will happen during deployment that are out of your control and can be difficult. There are so many reasons why it can be hard. But a deployment bucket list can help you look at life with joy during a time you might not otherwise feel so cheery. It can help give you purpose and focus when you might be struggling to feel those things. And it can be a way to give yourself permission to really live, even when the love of your life is far from home.
